Subverting what a run-of-the-mill coming of age story typically looks and acts like, the film explores how different people react to the one thing more valuable then all else; time.
Surfing with Butteflies (2026)
Score Composer
Scored by time itself.
In dire need of a composer before the January film festival deadline, I produced several pieces of music for the poignant coming-of-age film. Mixing indie acoustic, somber piano runs, and uneasy horror ambience, the film, like its score, moves in an atypical fashion while still telling a story that's all too familiar to many. The film will be submitted to several local film festivals, including the St Kilda Film Festival, and the Young Australian Film Festival in the coming months.
“Ryan was easy to work with, incredibly time efficient and responded to feedback positively in his production of our film’s soundtrack… For a film so nostalgic and centered around mood, the soundtrack is perfect to convey the main character’s longing to be a kid once again.”
